General
Which model should I choose?
It depends on the results you want to achieve. Generally speaking, larger models are more cost-effective—both financially and time-wise. They illuminate a larger part of the body at once, so you won’t need multiple sessions for extensive therapy. Conversely, smaller devices may suit local therapy or frequent travel.

What is the recommended distance, and how long should one session last?
We recommend a distance of 15 to 50 cm for 10 to 20 minutes on the illuminated area. Longer sessions are less effective because cells stop absorbing more light after 20 minutes. However, the further you are from the source, the longer you’ll need to use it, as intensity decreases with distance. Precise numbers can’t be guaranteed as individual reactions vary, so listen to your body.
Is it necessary to wear protective glasses during therapy?
While we recommend wearing protective glasses, most of our customers simply close their eyes during therapy. If you have sensitive eyes or find the light uncomfortable, we advise using them. For complete peace of mind, consult your doctor.
What are the main benefits of red light therapy?
Thanks to its comprehensive effects, red light therapy can bring about numerous changes: increased energy, healthier skin and hair, faster muscle recovery, reduced inflammation and pain, improved circulation, or higher collagen production.
How quickly will I see results?
The results depend on the outcome you expect. If you use the therapy daily, it will be the most effective and fastest.
Within a few days: increased energy, mental well-being, and improved mood
2–4 weeks: physical changes (improved skin quality, joint recovery, pain relief, etc.)
When is red light therapy typically used?
Anytime during the day when you need a boost. Since sessions take only 20 minutes max, it’s easy to fit them into your schedule. It helps:
– in the morning to kickstart your day and maintain energy throughout,
– before workouts to prepare muscles for performance by improving blood flow,
– after workouts to speed up recovery and reduce soreness.
Can I use red light therapy in the evening?
Yes, but avoid using intense red (RED) light within 2–3 hours before sleep. Alternatively, use invisible NIR light spectrum, which doesn’t disrupt sleep.
How often should red light therapy be used?
Daily, to get the most out of the therapy. It only takes a few minutes. If daily use isn’t possible, aim for at least 3 times a week.
Can I do red light therapy multiple times a day?
Yes, but do not illuminate the same body part for more than 30 minutes per day. Split this into 2–3 sessions, as a single session should not exceed 20 minutes on the illuminated area.
Can you overdo it with red light therapy?
Excessively long therapy sessions can cause a so-called “biphasic dose-response.” The principle is simple: a low dose isn’t very effective, an ideal dose has maximum effect, and too much decreases the benefit.
Stick to 10–20 minutes per body part per session.
What are the benefits of the 630 nm wavelength?
The most significant effects are on the skin, hair, and nails because they absorb it the most. It supports the production of collagen, so it is used to address skin issues, reduce wrinkles or hair loss. As one of the most studied wavelengths, it has a lot of research behind it.
1) A study confirmed that the 630 nm wavelength helps reverse the signs of skin aging. Reduction of wrinkles, increased elasticity and density of the skin, and regulation of sebum. Tests showed that after 84 days, there was a gradual reduction in wrinkle depth by 38.3%, an increase in skin elasticity by 18.4%, and an increase in skin density by 47.7%, a reduction in sebum by 70.3%. The effects are not only short-term but last even a month after the therapy ends.
2) It has been proven that the 630 nm wavelength has a positive effect on (not only) sun-damaged skin. Participants aged 24–56 confirmed that in 80% of cases, they observed a softening of wrinkles and overall skin. Mainly older participants observed a reduction in fine lines. The therapy also slightly improved redness and hyperpigmentation. And all this without any side effects.
3) The 630 nm wavelength was used as a therapy against eyebrow loss in women suffering from FFA (frontal fibrosing alopecia). This condition leads to thinning of the hairline and eyebrows. During 10 weeks, the eyebrows significantly thickened and there was an increase in both strong and medium-strong hairs. The effect lasted for another 6 months after the end.
What are the benefits of the 810 nm wavelength?
This wavelength is capable of penetrating deeper into tissues. It is mainly discussed for its positive effects on the brain and cognition. It also has great absorption in CCO in mitochondria. Here are some interesting studies:
1) Three older adults with mild cognitive impairment underwent 18 sessions of 810 nm wavelength stimulation over 9 weeks and were assessed using neuropsychological tests of memory and executive functions and standardized questionnaires on depressive and anxiety symptoms, global cognitive functions, and daily functioning abilities before and after stimulation.
– The first older adult’s memory errors improved significantly. Previously, they were in the 1st-2nd percentile, meaning their memory was worse than almost everyone else’s. However, they improved to the 41st-69th percentile, which is a normal range like most people.
– The second older adult also improved significantly. They started at the 11th percentile, meaning they made more errors than most others. However, they improved significantly to the 83rd percentile, where they make fewer errors than most people.
– The third older adult improved from the 5th percentile, where they made many errors, to the 56th percentile, which is slightly better than average.
In simple terms, all three older adults significantly improved their memory and made fewer errors than before. Improvement in depressive and anxiety symptoms was also observed after the intervention.
2) The study measured changes in regional brain oxygen saturation (rSO2) before, during, and after 15 minutes of 810 nm wavelength LED stimulation on a healthy volunteer. The results showed a significant increase in rSO2 on both sides of the frontal area, indicating increased blood flow and oxygenation of the brain.
3) The study examined how well two different interventions help improve the motor skills of children with motor function problems. One was intensive functional training alone, and the other combined this training with 810 nm light therapy. Children were divided into groups based on the severity of their motor function problems using a standard system called the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS). The study found that children up to about 8 years old, especially those under 3 years old, showed significant improvement in motor skills if they underwent the combined intervention of training and light, compared to children who only underwent training. The main point is that adding light therapy to training made the treatment more effective for young children with some degree of motor function difficulties.
4) The study applied near-infrared light therapy with a wavelength of 810 nm to the foreheads of 10 patients with severe depression and anxiety disorders and measured their psychological and physiological outcomes. The study found that the therapy significantly reduced scores on the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D) and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A) after 2 and 4 weeks following a single 8-minute illumination, with the greatest improvement occurring after 2 weeks. At the same time, there was an increase in brain blood flow.
When to use the spectrum intensity settings?
For maximum effects, we recommend using 100%.
You can reduce the intensity if:
– you are starting with therapy – we recommend starting at 50–60% and gradually increasing. However, if higher intensity is not uncomfortable for you, there is no need to reduce the intensity.
– you are more sensitive to light. In such a case, just reduce the red light (RED).
– your skin reacts unpleasantly to heat. Near-infrared light (NIR) slightly warms, you can leave RED at maximum.
– the therapy at 100% is not pleasant for you. Always listen to your body, feelings, and needs.
How to use red light therapy to enhance sports performance?
Ideally just before sports performance. Focus on the areas you will be engaging. Thanks to the therapy, you will increase blood flow and prepare them.
On the other hand, after performance, it can speed up muscle and ligament recovery.
How to use red light therapy for recovery?
Perform the therapy within a few hours after performance. Focus on the areas that were most strained.
What is the use of red light therapy in summer?
Even in summer, red light therapy has many benefits. There are many that are difficult to achieve by staying in the sun. Moreover, even during sunny months, we are not outside enough – especially during the workweek.
Use therapy year-round for:
– regulation of sex hormones. When locally illuminating the crotch, it affects the production of testosterone, estrogen, or progesterone. Moreover, these are areas that should not be exposed to the sun – whether due to UV radiation or excessive heating.
– days when you don’t have time to be outside. It’s essentially a concentration of beneficial wavelengths for the body. So in a few minutes, you get as much as during a long stay in the sun. Outside, it often rains, regardless of the season.
– improving skin resistance to UV radiation. The skin is prepared, and the risk of burning is reduced. Morning use is ideal.
– local illumination. Whether it’s the musculoskeletal system before or after sports, or chronic problems. A concentrated dose accelerates recovery, acts as injury prevention, and relieves pain.
